About Mr. J. Williams
Greetings Students and Parents!
My name is Joshua Williams and I am the Chorus and Music Teacher here a Thomson-McDuffie Middle School! I been teaching chorus and music for 6 years in McDuffie County with 5 of those years being here in McDuffie County.
I grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia where I attended grade school. After graduation from Houston County High I went to Middle Georgia and Georgia College to get my Bachelors in Music Education. After graduating I moved out to El Paso, Texas where I met the love of my life, Alexis and got my Masters Degree online from Georgia College. After COVID struck I decided to move back home to Georgia. I got my Specialist in Advanced Educational Studies with a focus in Music. Alexis and I have been married now for 4 years now. Together we have a dog and two cats.
I have played trumpet since 6th grade and have been playing it for 20+ years. I have been a part of multiple music ensembles throughout Georgia. The current ones I am a member of is the Savanah River Winds and The Columbia County Orchestra. I have also marched with various band organizations throughout the state of Georgia. I am currently the Brass Instructor for the Thomson High School Bulldog Brigade!
When I am not doing something with music I can be found spending time with my beautiful wife and fur-children. I can also be found playing various types of video games and board games. I can also be found building Legos, Puzzles, or metal arts.
I am excited to continue working with the students of McDuffie County and can not wait to continue to watch music grow in the school and community!
