TMMS Cross Country Team

Greetings! I am glad you are interested in the TMMS Cross Country Team. This is an exciting sport at our school that I hope to build into a program that feeds our high school team with runners that can compete at the highest level.

Cross country (XC) running is a sport where runners compete both individually and as a team while racing long distance over natural terrain.  A XC course varies. You will run anywhere from open fields to forest and at times will have small obstacles such as logs or creeks in the path. It’s a great sport that supports lifelong health and fitness. It is not uncommon for individuals who are athletic with a competitive spirit to end up choosing XC as their sport of choice once they discover the joy and fun that it brings. In middle school we run races that are 2 miles long.

To participate in XC at the middle school you must be in the 6th-8th grades, be in good standing both academically and behaviorally as stated in the TMMS athletic handbook, and have a current permission to treat an athletic physical on file with the school.
